Where there is Smoke, there is Fire
While preparing for this series of fire paintings, I researched wildfires and their positive and negative effects on our environment.. This painting explores these fires and their role in the ecosystem. While large-scale, intense fires are a negative when they result from climate change or fire suppression, forest fires can also function as a sort of reset for ecosystems. These cleansing fires prevent build up of excess tinder and pave the way for pioneer species of plants and animals.
Framed size; 17.5 x 17.5 in
Encaustic
Framed in solid walnut
