Fire in the Sky
I love mixing watercolour and encaustic together in my pieces: mixing the fire-based encaustic medium with the fluidness of water allows me to merge two opposing mediums and elements. For my series on fire, I wanted to capture both the beauty and scale of fires. This piece shows the fire reaching up all the way into the sky, highlighting the birch trees before it.
Framed size: 21.5 x 17.5 in
Encaustic and watercolour
Framed in solid walnut
