Horizon Moon

CA$7,500.00
Sold

This large piece is monumental in both size and in subject matter. The large, silent moon commands attention in this piece bathing the white birch tree’s bark in its light. The sky is a dark phthalo blue, which I preferred to use instead of black. I leaned towards using phthalo blue instead of ultramarine blue in this painting. If we mapped each color on the color wheel, we'd see that ultramarine tilts toward the violet side of the wheel, while phthalo shifts toward the green side which I preferred to use in this painting. Although the palette is simple, the message is strong. The strong, crisp horizon line echoes the title of this painting.

96 x 48 in

Framed in solid walnut (framed size: 97.5 x 49.5 in)

LOCATED: Melt Studio + Gallery
