Little Red

“Love will find a way through paths where wolves fear to prey.” - Byron

Growing up with the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood, I, like many little girls of my generation, was captivated by the story's vivid imagery and underlying lessons. Through the course of an absolutely full life, I’ve come to realize that we all encounter wolves in the forest—and, like Little Red, we find our own way through.

This series explores Little Red’s evolution as a reflection of our shared human experience. From the innocent girl cheerfully making her way through the woods, unaware of the dangers ahead, to the reflective adolescent, apprehensive of the approaching wolf.

As the series progresses, Little Red transforms into a mature woman, now cloaked in a flowing red garment. No longer the prey, she steps forward as the pursuer, moving confidently into the forest, unafraid of what lies within.

This isn’t the fairy tale you remember—it's a journey through shadowed paths, where the familiar becomes fantastical and every twist leads to the unexpected.

In my vision, Little Red symbolizes the grace and wisdom that come with experience, a celebration of triumph over both inner and outer wolves.

The Canadian landscape serves as the perfect setting for this visual journey—both a backdrop and a character of its own—supporting the narrative of self-discovery.
